Be Bold: Kris Carr Takes on Cancer
She doesn’t look like someone living with cancer and that’s the point. Four years ago Kris Carr was diagnosed with an incurable cancer, but she didn’t crawl into bed hoping the healthcare industry would magically develop a cure before her last breath..
After her diagnosis, Carr traveled the country, trying experimental treatments and holistic methods. She embarked on a journey of survival living and filmed it. The result is a documentary called Crazy Sexy Cancer. Yes, you read that right.
Crazy Sexy Cancer was shown earlier this year at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas. But it’s about to get a wider audience. Cable channel TLC will be showing the film on August 29 at 9pm. Set your TiVos.
But that’s not where Crazy Sexy Cancer stops for Kris Carr. She has a new book of the same name and has started to blog. She’s an inspiration to thousands (and soon millions) and is redefining the face of the cancer patient.
UPDATE: Kris Carr cannot be reached through this site. We featured her story because we have a series about being bold, which she certainly is. But we have no relationship with her. If you have a personal message for Ms. Carr, we encourage you to contact her at her web site.

I wanted to say that Kris is so inspirational. I watched her on Crazy Sexy Cancer then I watched her on Oprah. I am 33 years old, a single mother to a wonderful teenage son, and I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Whenever, I think of the future I think of Kris and say I am just going to enjoy the now…I always say that to myself and thank you Kris for being you..I am enjoying and LIVING life…and thankful for everyday….take care…
