New Domain Naming Trick from 45n5

Date November 9, 2007

This is the most solid domain naming tip I’ve heard. Mark from 45n5 has revealed his domain name-finding method via online video. (Basic instructions typed below video).

1. Go to Google’s Keyword Tool and enter your niche’s keywords.
2. Scroll down and find “Download all keywords” (choose text or csv)
3. Copy and Paste keywords into bulk pricing page at GoDaddy. Don’t worry about spaces, GoDaddy will take them out. Check the .com box.
5. Enter the captcha code and hit Go. Then see the list of domains available in your niche.

I tried doing this myself using the term “social media.” As of 5:30pm today, the following domains were available:

engagingadvocatesthroughsearchandsocialmedia.com
socialmediasiteswebsearchengine.com
searchandsocialmedia.com
plucksocialmedia.com
mediaandsocialchange.com
sociallearningtheorymedia.com
mediasocialresponsibility.com
mediaimagesandthesocialconstructionofreality.com
directorofsocialmedia.com
bestofsocialmedia.com
socialclassmedia.com
sociallearningtheoryandmedia.com
mediaservicesincludesocialnetworking.com
socialmediadefinition.com
socialpsychologyinthemedia.com
internationalconferenceonweblogsandsocialmedia.com
socialhistoryofthemedia.com
mediasocialchange.com
socialpsychologymedia.com
americanuniversitycenterforsocialmedia.com
economicsofsocialmedia.com

Now, who wants to create a single tool that does a mashup of keyword tool with bulk domaining?

I haven’t tried Mark’s method yet, but I did watch the video and liked what I saw. Is it just me or does Mark give out some very practical and very useful tips on a consistent basis.
