Coffee Break

Date July 18, 2007

Sometimes I come across or StumbleUpon sites that are fun to share with others. They’re not necessarily marketing related, but let’s face it. We all need a little break (or five) during the daily grind. So whenever you check your favorite newsreader (because you have subscribed to our RSS feed), and see the words “Coffee Break”, clear some space on your calendar. It’s time to surf the web.

TaDaList.com - Today I needed a good task list manager as I’m no longer using Outlook. I wanted something that loads and refreshes quickly. So when I read “Sign up for free in 10 seconds” on the front page of TaDaList.com, I knew I’d found THE ONE.

Spell with Flickr - I love it when people have too much time on their hands because it usually benefits me entertainmentally. Type your name into Spell with Flickr and it will do just that - spell your name with photos of letters from Flickr. Oh that’s not all. No. Once the results pop up, you can click on a letter for a different picture. Need a visual?

Last week I learned about BustAName.com, and suddenly I’m buying up domain names. I didn’t think there were any good ones left, but there are. Thanks, BustAName. Would you like me to just direct deposit my paycheck to your account?

Techdirt did us all a favor by summarizing a USA Today article about some interesting eBay statistics. Apparently some people pay more during an auction than they would if they clicked “Buy It Now.” Some are in it for the thrill of the game. And some people get lost in the “heat of the auction.”

I used MSN Live Search on purpose for the first time last week. I was playing Dingbats, a trivia game that allows you to search for the answer. Hey, don’t mock me. I suck at Trivia.

Unclutterer took a look at a new furniture line from Pottery Barn that helps hide those pesky computer cables. Yeah, but can it stop my kitten from chewing them?

Speaking of cats, have you talked with yours recently about drugs?

Last but absolutely positively not least, poorly placed advertising. It’s almost as funny as Joel McHale. (I hope you love dark humor as much as I do!)
